Have a Toast and Taste at the Arboretum

toastandtaste[UPDATE: I just got a note with a few more details from Judy Hohmann, Manager, Marketing & Public Relations for the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum:

"New this year are ‘green’ prize drawings including two sets of touring bicycles, cooking classes at the Arboretum, signed cookbooks, basket of natural soaps and balms made in Waconia by SunLeaf Naturals, etc.

We’re using compostable party ware. People can reserve online at www.arboretum.umn.edu/toastandtaste.aspx or call 952-443-1400."]

This Wednesday, June 24, the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum hosts their second annual “Toast and Taste in the Gardens.” Here’s what it says one the Arboretum’s website:

An encore of last year’s sold-out after-hours event, sample in-season, fresh, local cuisine from 20 of the Twin Cities top restaurants. Savor tastes from Minnesota wineries and breweries in the unparalleled garden setting of the Arboretum. New this year: cash bar and fresh cooking demos with local chef Brenda Langton from Café Brenda and Spoonriver Restaurant; and Arboretum Learning Center resident chef Jenny Breen of Good Life Catering. Live music completes the picture.

It sounds like a terrific event to me - I always have a great time at the Arboretum, and many of my favorite restaurants, including The Birchwood Cafe, The Craftsman, Brasa, and The Red Stag Supper Club will be represented there. Here are the details:

Date: Wednesday, June 24, 2009
Time: 7pm - 9pm
Cost: $60 for members and $80 for non-members (there’s aso a pre-part reception from 6 pm - 7 pm for an additional cost)

The University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is located at 3675 Arboretum Drive, Chaska MN 55318 | 952.443.1400
