If only I had $500 and lived in Washington D.C.! But maybe you do? Check out the recent press release I received from the good folks at Chez Panisse:

On January 24, 2010, Honorary Chairs Jose Andres, Joan Nathan and Alice Waters will host Sunday Night Suppers: A Focus on Food – fifteen intimate dinners and Sunday Night Sips, a separate cocktail party, in Washington, D.C. homes to benefit D.C. Central Kitchen and Martha’s Table.

While savoring the rich winter bounty of the East Coast, chefs, community leaders and concerned citizens will share their ideas on how to nourish the health, economy and environment of our nation’s capital through food. The Sunday Suppers, hosted in private homes in the DC metro area, will pair chefs and hosts to create an evening of discussion while dining on creative cuisine with ingredients donated by local growers and food producers.

The Sunday Night Sips cocktail party will be a gathering with Alice Waters to celebrate the contribution youth are making to create an equitable food system. At this cocktail party, Laurie Silverbush will premier a clip from her new movie “Hungry in America”.
