Although I don't live near Wisconsin or Minnesota this post makes me wish I did. I love fresh, organic produce. I had an organic banana for the first time in my life the other day and it nearly knocked my socks off! I've never had a banana that tasted so..well..banana-ee. It was incredible.

Great post. The slow food movement leans on a fulcrum. Although focusing on farmers and local produce is key, at the same time, they need to be educated on the birds eye view of the industry.
If not, many of them go out of business.
(business education) + (partnership) = slow food movement
In California, a few local brands have already be bought by bigger corporations.
I attend the Slow Food Nation food fair in SF last year.

Interesting salt product. We're into cooking with kosher and sea salts, we think that it helps the ultimate flavor of the dish, and generally find that at the table we don't have to add salt. I'm curious about himasalt, and will look to try some in the near future. Thanks for the info!
