According to Lisa Kivirist & John Ivanko - In today's world of racing deadlines, tight schedules and sped up lifestyles, it's nice to know that there are still a few places where you can escape to relax, reflect and tap into the creativity in your soul and the natural world around us. Deriving its name from an ancient Persian folktale "The Three Princes of Serendip", Inn Serendipity Bed & Breakfast and the Inn Serendipity Woods cabin are among those places. While located in different counties, both places serve as incubators for land stewardship, ecologically-based design and living, exploration of "right livelihood," and more sustainable approaches to agriculture and forestry. The Inn and organic farm are powered by 100-percent renewable energy. Inn Serendipity was recognized by Natural Home magazine in their Jan/Feb. 2005 issue as one of the "Top 10 Eco-destinations in North America." Our current project at Inn Serendipity involves the conversion of an old granary/corn crib into a passive and active solar heated straw bale greenhouse. Our calendar of events offers activity ideas and on-farm happenings. Or try out a few of our summer recipes after picking up some of our produce at the Eastside Farmers' Market in Madison on Tuesdays, from 4pm to 7pm (we're intermittent sellers so we're not there every week; look for the Geo Metro at our market stand).
