According to Boots & Erik Wickstrom - Tucked away in the picturesque Manastash Canyon, 4W Ranch is a working ranch, family owned and operated by Erik, Boots, Owen and Allyn Wickstrom. We provide year-round accommodations in two fully self-contained western style guest cabins. While only a 15 minute drive to Ellensburg, the canyon is home to a variety of wildlife, including elk, deer, coyotes, bear, cougars and wild turkeys, to name a few. Manastash Creek flows through the ranch providing icy cold mountain water and a beautiful natural setting. You can begin your day by sitting under the large covered porch warmed by both the morning sun and the song of the meadowlark. Cattle graze and move about peacefully in the green irrigated pastures, with the great rock walls of the canyon in the background. At night, the hoot of a great horned owl blends with the lonesome song of the coyote, and everywhere above you are millions of stars twinkling brightly. For the adventuresome, there are snowmobile, cross-country, snowshoe and hiking trails nearby in the Wenatchee National Forest and the Umptanum Wildlife Area. The Yakima River is world famous for its fantastic trout fishing and river rafting. In addition to these destinations, there are lots of shops, events, museums, and restaurants in nearby Ellensburg. Meals are not served, but guests are invited and encouraged to purchase our meats from the farm for cooking in your private cabin kitchens.
