According to John & Dorothy Priske - Fountain Prairie Inn & Farms offers naturally raised, top-quality Highland beef and breeding stock, as well as premium asparagus. Our registered Highland cattle are raised naturally, without growth hormones or antibiotics in their feed. The cattle are free to roam our lush pastures, directly harvesting the sun's energy to produce lean, flavorful beef. Small amounts of corn are added to the steers' diet the last 90 days to increase marbling in the meat. As members of the Quality Highland Beef Program, our steers are processed at the age of 14 - 36 months, and the meat is allowed to age for 21 days. Our meat is available by individual cuts only. We sell asparagus seasonally from approximately May 1st - June 30th. Our asparagus farm is located at W5639 Hwy 16, Rio, WI. The hours at the asparagus farm are 9 am to 6 pm, 7 days a week. Quantity discounts are available. Look for us at the Dane County Farmers' Market every Saturday on Carroll Street in Madison, across from the Grace Episcopal Church.
