According to Kurt Rentschler & Dean Stynsburg - In the Valley Community Farm is a small CSA farm that started in 1996. We farmed on rented land for a couple years until we found our own land. In 1998, after six years of looking, we knocked on the right door and found a dairy farmer that wanted to sell. The farm is located in Afton, MN just East of the Twin Cities metro area. It is near the St. Croix River which flows into the Mississippi River. The topography of the area is rolling hills. We have 16 acres of land and the topography of our land is actually in a mini valley with a small hill rising to the North and a small hill rising to the South.
