Quillisascut Cheese

Quillisascut Cheese Farm is a small family farm in Rice Washington, owned by Rick and Lora Lea Misterly. Their 36-acre farm is located at the base of the Huckleberry Mountain range, just off the Columbia River. The farm's goat cheese production grew out of a love for country living and desire for homemade cheese. In 1987, they started the cheese business, which has grown over the years to the present size of 40 milking goats, and 1 Jersey cow.The goats always have access to about 25 acres of pasture that they graze on. We supplement their browsing with Alfalfa hay, the best quality we can find around here, and they are given whole barley and oats while they are being milked. We try to purchase our feeds directly from other local farms, as all the land we have is in pasture, garden, and wild space.Quillisascut Cheese is available at several restaurants and stores in the Seattle area, and direct orders are also possible.
