Some say the beautifully restored 1930s diner in the Garfield neighborhood near downtown reminds them of a Norman Rockwell painting. The gleaming, white Welcome Diner, trimmed in red and decorated with a neatly manicured lawn, looks like an image from an old Saturday Evening Post. So does the food, which can be enjo outside on whitewashed wood benches during nice weather, or inside at the cozy, nine-seat counter. Everything is top quality and skillfully made from scratch with super-fresh ingredients.
