Café Levain just makes good, fresh French food. The atmosphere isn't as upscale as the food is - it's supposed to be a quiet neighborhood place. The French onion soup is one of the best around.
This place is Michael McKay's (from the Sample Room) very own. The fare is good ol' fashioned American comfort food for breakfast through dinner, using lots of organic and local products.
