Thanks Crystal. Ah, those tunes! I always ask my friends what they're doing instead of findsing time for food, and invariably there are so many activities... important ones, at that (TV can be important too, I'm no snob!). I just find that giving my meals their own space on my calendar is a huge help. Thanks again!
Dinner is definitely worth setting aside the time for. My friends often ask me how I have the time to make dinner most nights and the answer is in your post - I make the time. It's great to put on some tunes and work away in the kitchen.
Awesome post, Lee. About a year ago, I started carrying my stainless bottle (empty) through airport security and then filling up at the water fountain or a restaurant inside...saving me about .12 per ounce (damned airport prices!). I had several people stop me on my last trip and comment about what a good idea that was - guess we've been getting the "no liquids through security" message for so long we've forgotten our creativity! ;) Sure maybe the water fountain isn't the purest of water, but the real and impact costs are worth it to me.
Cheers to Linden Hills for taking that stance. I hope the other co-ops get on board. THIS is how co-ops can lead the way and inspire real change.
Kat: Thanks for the reminder about High View, but its website now says this about their turkeys: "We are sold out - and no longer taking reserves for 2009." http://www.highviewpastures.com/turkeys.htm
MFM: Thanks for the gentle reminder that you're still open and have pastured turkeys for sale.
Tangled Noodle: We're still undecided what we're doing for Thanksgiving. Can we come to your house? ;-)

Chatting a farmer is a hoot! They're usually good, simple, friendly people who have lots of stories.
I don't think people realize that even a VERY SMALL garden can produce a TON of fresh produce. Nobody I know out eats their garden.

And thanks Kris too. I'm a fan of Sigg and Klean Kanteen both. What to do, what to do...?
