I check my horoscope, via the Strib, nearly every day! It's just for fun and yes, they are always very broad and can apply to nearly everyone. That being said, every once and a while there is an uncannily relevant one (of which today's just happens to be). Either way, it usually makes me stop and think about something important in my life - whether it's my professional or personal life - and if for nothing else than taking a couple minutes to think about things from another point of view, it's good.

Last month I made my first batch of mustard. It turned out better than any packaged mustard I have ever had. Everyone who tried it fell in love with it. I think you are on to something here.
As far as how long it will last? Food Network says "One Month" but I have to ask this, How long will Vinegar last? My point is there is not much in mustard to grow little nasties. Just keep it in the refrigerator.
