Hi Lee ...
Your dad really LOVED radishes in his ginormous daily salad ... I'm not sure if you knew that. There is nothing like radishes and scallions with sour cream on a hot summer day ...
Hi there! Thanks for your comments! I'm so glad to hear from you.
Kris - it's our pleasure, we love St. Paul. Some of us even live there. Thanks for the tip on the beets. Your beer blog is great!
Crossn81 - wouldn't miss it. My whole family will be there. How about you?
Crystal - you can have the idea, as long as you keep linking back to me. :-) I'm posting about Strawberry Day tomorrow, stay tuned. :-)

I love your 5 picks! Great way to sum up the market too...I may borrow the list idea in an effort to keep me from rambling.
I'm curious - what's Strawberry Day at Harmony Valley (per the previous commenter)
Thank you so much for highlighting St. Paul!! That's my default market but it seems to get bulldozed in the larger media by the Mill City and even Minneapolis farmers markets. I love the anticipation as I drive to the market, wondering what newly emerged treat will be available. This week - beets! Little, radish sized beets.
Thanks Heather! I just took a look at your blog post (http://greenadventuresofacitygirl.blogspot.com/) - great idea and pictures. So far, there's not a root vegetable that I don't love if it's roasted right. I'm looking forward to trying this next week (hopefully we get more of the same stuff).
Thanks for the link! Kohlrabi was a new one for me too. I tried it roasted with some of our radishes & potatoes and it was AMAZING! Even our four-year-old liked it which really is a miracle! I blogged about it and put up a couple pics. I also discovered that roasting is one way I actually like radishes!!
Alex - excellent article, thanks for the link.
Kristen - thanks to you, as always, for a terrific Fight Back Friday.
EcoYogini - I totally agree.
Thanks all for stopping by and posting, I appreciate the feedback and links!

I have been thinking about this issue a lot lately... moving beyond "organic" and with the more I read, the more I recognize that the label isn't enough. It is a step, but I was shocked when I read the stories of "Big Organic" in Michael Pollan's Omnivore's Dilemma.... had never thought of it in this light.
:) Blessings
