Has it really been a year? Today Daniel Klein's the Perennial Plate series releases video number 52, officially completing a full year of weekly videos featuring Minnesota foods, producers, recipes, and farms. Many of Daniel's terrific videos, which cover topics from hunting and eating squirrels to making ice cream in the snow, have been posted all over the web -- on the Huffington Post, Grist, and right here on SGT.
And now the Perennial Plate's Minnesota adventure comes to a close, opening the door for bigger, better, broader, national food things. Daniel tells me that he and his trusty cohort (girlfriend, vegetarian, and camera girl) Mirra Fine will take a short break, and that they plan to start posting new videos this spring -- from various stops across the United States.

And while I'll miss seeing videos of local friends and farmers each week, I'm excited to see what Daniel and Mirra have in store for us as they take their show on the road.
All that said, the Perennial Plate needs your help in order to make the road trip happen. Here's what you can do:
- Share story ideas: Daniel is going to be traveling across the country, looking for the most unique and fascinating stories he can find about good food in America. If you have a favorite farm, a friend who's doing something wild with food, or a unique story to tell, contact Daniel to let him know.
- Host an event: Daniel and Mirra hope to be having Harvest Dinners, film screenings, and "hang out sessions" (his words, not mine) all across the country. Maybe you or a friend would be willing to host? Contact Daniel to let him know.
