A small farmer's market in Stillwater Township started up a few weeks ago. Only seven vendors are participating, so they get to know the customers and pay lots of individual attention to each buyer. (http://stillwaterfood.blogspot.com/) I just returned from the market with all the veggies for this recipe. It sounds great. Thanks, Lee.
All great picks! I'm loving sauteed greens(still) so it's good to see the abundance in the markets and co-ops. Was nice to see a good amount of zucchini blossoms out there last week - and I was amazed at the price. Felt like we were stealing them!
Hi Stephanie, good question about the length of the season. I found a little bit of information on golden beets here: http://www.humeseeds.com/beetgold.htm. I'm guessing part of the reason for their scarcity is that people don't know what to do with them. Anyone else wanna weigh in here? Your link is a good one - the salad looks great.
this recipe sounds delicious! i love the idea of making borscht with golden beets b/c they don't bleed as the red ones do.
a question, i had: do golden beets have a similar season as the red variety? i wonder why they are available in such small proportion at the FM, compared to red beets.

Fresh tasting raspberries all winter are awesome! Freeze them quickly spread out on cookie sheets first to keep them whole for other uses too.
