From Wikipedia:
Cassoulet (from Occitan caçolet [kæsəˈleɪ; Fr. kasuˈlɛ]) is a rich, slow-cooked bean stew or casserole originating in the south of France, containing meat (typically pork sausages, pork, goose, duck and sometimes mutton), pork skin (couennes) and white haricot beans.
As prepared by celebrated chef Jon Radle at Grand Cafe in Minneapolis, add the words featuring locally raised duck from Au Bon Canard and house-made garlic sausage, and then the phrase phenomenally delicious. Chef Radle's cassoulet is one of the many great reasons to visit Grand Cafe (suggested by the folks at Bon Appetit - among others - as a great place to eat in Minneapolis), and we're thrilled that it will be the main course at Simple, Good, and Tasty's February local food event.
We're also excited that the last week in February marks the first anniversary of our first SGT blog post - "Joined a CSA!" - officially making us one year old. And what a year it's been! Please join us at Grand Cafe on February 23 for a great meal and celebration.
