Dorset Cereals: "Honest, Tasty, and Real"

dorset-cerealHonest, tasty, and real. That's the claim Dorset Cereals makes on their website, and it's hard to refute. Dorset cereals, including the Berries and Cherries muesli I picked up at the Wedge a few weeks back, are made from whole, natural, terrific ingredients. Lots of dried fruits, all sorts of meusli and flakes. Here's what the Dorset site says about what they do: We visit our suppliers to make sure we are using the best possible ingredients. We don’t just chuck our ingredients together, we balance and blend them carefully using our knowledge of what tastes delicious. We don’t scrimp, we make sure our recipes are stuffed full of fruit, nuts and seeds. We don’t forget the flakes - they get as much attention as those fruits.dorset-berries I don't doubt that every word is true. Dorset is a purpose driven company with a fantastic website full of recipes, activities, and great pictures. And although the cereals Dorset - a UK company - makes are decidedly not local for those of us who live in the US, I feel good about the product. A quick warning - although I like the taste of Dorset cereals, they do taste healthy. This is not a food you'll be able to sneak into someone's breakfast bowl so you can trick them into eating something that's good for them - they might think they're eating berries and twigs. That said, for those of us who actually WANT to do our bodies some good, even a small bowl satisfies.
